These, the two kingdoms of Queen Herzeleide, are located by Wolfram in Spain, but they are undoubtedly Wales and North Wales (the North galis of Malory), the Northern border-land. Parzival's title throughout the poem is _der Waleis_, in French versions _le Gallois_, an evident indication of the Celtic origin of the story.
