National Heritage
for the Blind
Empowering Vision, Enriching Lives
National Heritage for the Blind is a nonprofit organization that removes barriers between people with vision loss and the resources they are entitled to. We operate a free accessible digital library, a free public-benefits finder, and free accessibility tools — at no cost to the people we serve, and with no advertising.
National Heritage for the Blind is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. EIN 39-2947761. All services on this site are provided free of charge.
Our Programs
National Heritage for the Blind runs four free programs for people who are blind, have low vision, or read with assistive technology: a public-benefits finder, an accessible digital library, a vision screening tool, and a sitewide accessibility toolkit. Everything below is free and open to anyone.

Donate a Vehicle,
Support Our Work
Donating a car, truck, motorcycle or RV is one of the most direct ways to support National Heritage for the Blind. Pickup and title transfer are handled nationwide at no cost to you, and the proceeds fund the free programs on this site — our accessible library, our benefits finder, and our accessibility tools.
Our vehicle donation program is operated on our behalf by 1-800-DonateCars, who will arrange the pickup and send your tax receipt. Clicking below takes you to their site to start the donation.
DONATE A VEHICLENational Heritage for the Blind is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN 39-2947761), so your vehicle donation is tax-deductible. How much you can deduct generally depends on what the vehicle sells for — see IRS Publication 4303, A Donor's Guide to Vehicle Donations.
